Skyco Skylights, the leader in industrial and custom skylights, can now add Factory Mutual FM Approval to its line of 4x8 industrial skylight.

FM Approvals is an international leader in third-party certification and Approval of commercial and industrial products for property loss prevention purpose. Their certification assures building owners that Skyco Skylights’ innovative line of 4x8 industrial skylights have been objectively tested and have met or exceeded the standard for quality, performance and reliability for commercial and industrial facilities.

“As we continue to grow our national and international presence, FM is a primary building block necessary in certain specifications. FM Approval is a certification of the quality and performance of our industrial skylights,” explains Skyco Skylights CEO, Ryan Marshall. “We have received incredible support in the Southwestern Markets and the FM Approval certification allows us to offer our industrial skylights to markets globally.”

The innovative design enabled Skyco Skylights FM Approved skylight to meet a Severe (S) Hail Rating with 2.0 in diameter ice balls, the highest rating available, and an exceptional 195 psf high-performance wind uplift rating, exceeding similar FM Listed models currently available.

“We set out from day one to design the highest rated unit on the market, and our design team, achieved that goal,” said Marshall. “This opens another opportunity for building owners seeking compliance, safety and performance for their buildings when it comes to daylighting products.”

The FM Approved industrial skylight is part of Skyco Skylights’ line of SKYPRO 4x8 industrial skylight models. Skyco Skylights uses aluminum framing with a unique capping system providing industry leading performance and longevity in polycarbonate domes. Polycarbonate material is well known for its durability and is backed by a ten-year warranty against yellowing and breakage.

Skyco Skylights’ industry leading line of SKYPRO models boast several other certifications, most notable ICC-ES Listing (ESR-3837) and UL Listing for its smoke and heat vent skylights. Skyco Skylights is also an active member of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and a source for industry consulting on safety and daylighting topics.
