Florida Governor Scott's Visit to Heat Pipe Technology Signs House Bill 7007 into Law

Heat Pipe Technology, Inc., a division of MiTek® Industries, a Berkshire Hathaway company (nyse: brk-a, nyse: brk-b),announced that Florida Governor Rick Scott's recent visit to the Company's Tampa headquarters drew a number of dignitaries, large crowds, and wide-ranging media attention. Governor Scott was at HPT's headquarters to sign a new sales tax exemption bill into law (House Bill 7007). The bill offers a sales tax exemption for Florida manufacturers that are purchasing machinery and equipment. While at HPT, Governor Scott also took a tour of the Company's manufacturing, research, and testing facilities.
The dignitaries in attendance for Governor Scott's visit included: Florida State Senator Jack Latvala; Florida State Representative Jake Raburn; Jesse Panuccio, Executive Director, Department of Economic Opportunity; Mark Wilson, President, Florida Chamber of Commerce; Tom Feeney, President and CEO, Associated Industries of Florida, Bill Herle, Executive Director, National Federation of Independent Business, and full complement of HPTs executive leadership and employees. Governor Scott's visit also drew the media, which included 10 News, the Associated Press, Bay News 9, Fox 13, Hillsborough County TV, Tampa Bay Times, Tampa Tribune, The Florida Channel (Tallahassee), and WFLA-TV.
