Onset (http://www.onsetcomp.com), one of the world’s leading supplier of data loggers, announced the HOBO UX90 Occupancy & Light Logger, a matchbox-sized, LCD-display data logger that tracks building occupancy and light usage to pinpoint areas in a building that could benefit from occupancy sensors and other energy savings initiatives.

Building owners, facility managers, energy auditors, and lighting contractors will use the data loggers to quickly and easily collect time-stamped data documenting each time room occupancy or lighting status changes. The compact data loggers are easy to mount to lighting fixtures, ceilings and walls, and can be set up and installed in less than a minute.

“While room occupancy sensors can help achieve significant energy reductions in buildings, the lack of data detailing when lights are left on in unoccupied rooms can often make it difficult to determine where occupancy sensors are needed,” said Jessica Frackleton, manager of product marketing for Onset. “The HOBO UX90 Logger takes the guesswork out of the process, making it easier than ever to track occupancy and light use patterns around the clock, and in turn, build a stronger business case for occupancy sensor projects.”

Once data has been recorded with the HOBO UX90 Occupancy & Light Logger, it can be easily viewed in graph form using accompanying HOBOware® software, and printed out for use in reports. The data can also be easily exported to Microsoft Excel for more detailed analysis.

Next-Generation Time-of-Use Loggers for Fast, Reliable Deployment The HOBO UX90 Occupancy & Light Logger is part of Onset’s new HOBO UX90 Series, the industry’s lowest-cost, most comprehensive family of “time-of-use” data loggers. In addition to the Occupancy & Light Logger, the new toolbox suite includes data loggers for measuring motor on/off status, electronic pulses, state changes, and light use patterns.

Leveraging patent-pending technology, HOBO UX90 data loggers streamline energy audits, and make deployment faster and more reliable than ever. For example, the loggers offer a large LCD display that visually confirms logger operation; signal strength indication that ensures proper logger placement; large memory capacity that enables longer deployments with fewer site visits; and a USB 2.0 PC interface for full-speed data offloads. The loggers also feature start and stop pushbuttons, and rare earth magnet, strap, and command-strip mounting options to help ensure the loggers stay put during deployment.

Accompanying HOBOware software also reduces deployment time. New time-saving features allow HOBO UX90 users to batch-configure and readout hundreds of loggers in a fraction of the time it would take with previous generations. Additionally, the software features a Bulk Export feature that allows users to export data files to text format for use in spreadsheets and other programs.

Pricing and Availability
HOBO UX90 Series data loggers are available immediately from Onset. Prices range from $85 - $224. Please visit http://www.onsetcomp.com/products/data-loggers/ux90-family for complete pricing details and technical specifications.
