Total thermal output in any industrial or commercial application which can be applied to providing useful heat, thermal or thermochemical reactions or any other purpose of value which does not involve the production of energy. Usually used in reference to leftover heat from steam turbine energy production, which always leaves residual heat which cannot be further recycled for the generation of electricity.
