A service drop is the electrical service lines which run from a utility's distribution cables into a customer's home or place of business. Service drops are typically composed of two 120-volt lines whose output can be combined to produce a 240-vold feed, and a neutral third line. When these three lines are used in the same cable run, they are referred to as triplex cable.
