An device for controlling energy consumption which is designed to block high current flow beyond a given level. Service delimiter adapters are usually installed between the meter and the junction box or fuse box/breaker box for a dwelling, and they cut power to the dwelling when excessive load is detected, forcing the customer to manually reset the power supply to the dwelling. These devices are used primarily to insure that low-income customers do not exceed given energy consumption levels by making excessive use of space heaters, ovens and stoves, hot water heaters or other devices that consume a lot of electricity.
