The acronym ESCO can be used to refer to companies offering both energy and efficiency services, but it usually refers to an efficiency services company. ESCOs primarily serve large-scale industrial and commercial customers by assisting in the reduction of energy consumption. Typically the customer pays an ESCO a percentage of the energy savings that the ESCO provides.
