electric system, system

Specifically refers to all equipment and facilities required to transmit and distribute electrical power to end-use customers. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, overhead and underground power lines, poles and/or transmission towers, transformers and substations.

Where the context is assumed to relate to electrical service, an electric system is often referred to simply as a system. This glossary frequently uses system to refer to an electric system.
