bottleneck facility

A point on a power distribution system, usually a distribution line or a connection point through which all electricity destined for a given area has to pass, or a choke point in a system that has the potential to reduce the efficiency of the entire system. If actual bottlenecking does occur at this connection point or facility, the owner of the facility may be required to add additional capacity at this point to relieve the pressure.
