Reliant Energy is a player in both generation and distribution of power. With assets of over $30 billion, it reported $37.73 billion in revenues (for the nine months ending Sept. 2001). It owns 23,000 MW of generation capacity in the U.S. and ranks amongst the five largest power marketers and five largest natural gas marketers in North America.
Reliant Energy Delivery Group consists of three regulated natural gas utilities and a regulated electric utility. Together, they serve nearly 4 million electric and natural gas customers in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Minnesota.
Reliant Energy owns one of the largest natural gas pipeline networks in the mid-continent U.S., transporting approximately
1 trillion cubic feet of gas per year, and providing storage and related services for customers across six states. The company owns an 8,200-mile pipeline system.Reliant Energy owns over 3,400 MW of generation capacity in Western Europe. Apart from wholesale trading and marketing operations, it has energy services and energy delivery businesses in Latin America.
