Combined Heat and Power Conference

The Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Conference is held concurrently with the World Energy Engineering Congress at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. It explores recent developments in the combined heat and power arena, which are contributing to the more widespread use of these technologies as a viable power supply option. End users will learn from experts about the latest developments in combined heat and power systems and their application within industrial, buildings and governmental sectors. CHP, or cogeneration, is currently growing in importance as a means of adding generating capacity which avoids both the necessity of expansion of the transmission grid and costly distribution losses. Advances in technologies such as steam turbines, distributed generation systems, microturbines, combustion engines, reciprocating engines, fuel cells, and heat recovery systems have also reduced the cost and improved the performance of CHP systems.
