We have an opportunity to manage natural gas savings programs for one or more California utilities. The delivery team will be composed of one or more project engineers, a program specialist, and outreach personnel. It could potentially include subcontractors and matrixed personnel from other departments. We are currently accepting applicants for a Program Manager to manage these contracts and oversee this team.   The Program Manager will be accountable for revenues and profits for the program/contract(s). They will also be responsible for the overall revenue, profits, and billable percentages of their team members’ full portfolio of work on these contract(s) and on other Cascade assignments. The Program Manager will also double as individual contributor on some projects within the program(s).   This full-time, exempt position is based in San Ramon, California, and reports to the California Territory Manager. Travel is expected approximately 25% of the time for this role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating and fostering an outreach and technical team that is focused on successful and profitable execution of the work under assigned contracts
  • Overseeing the profit and loss of assigned contracts
  • Managing monthly reporting and delineating goals that have been met as well as future projections, using specific methods to present the information
  • Developing and tracking KPIs to continuously improve overall team and contract performance
  • Creating and maintaining successful relationships with key utility personnel, effectively communicating our work under assigned contracts, and ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction
  • Identifying and internally communicating business development opportunities related to these contracts
  • Coordinating with other Cascade teams to identify, document, share, and instill overall Project Engineering best practices within Cascade – particularly as it relates to gas project best practices
  • Program management of gas savings contracts which includes formulating and executing a marketing and outreach strategy, managing measures to meet an overall savings goal and program budget, navigating regulatory issues, and managing and improving program systems and processes
  • Workload planning (in coordination with Cascade Workload Coordinator) for the California Gas team members and for California Gas projects
  • Client, contract, and task management for contracts which may encompass multiple project phases and deliverables for individual projects
  • Facilitating the addition of new team members; role onboarding and project mentoring for new team members
  • Performance management and ongoing development of team members
  • Cultivating business development opportunities arising out of these contracts

  • Knowledge of, and experience in, a technical customer support organization with a focus on data driven programs.
  • Efficiently organize and plan work tasks and simultaneously manage programs and projects to meet company goals

Industrial Energy Efficiency & Strategic Energy Management Proficiency

  • Proficient in the industrial energy efficiency engineering services delivered under this contract
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and facility systems, along with knowledge of the energy aspects of common mechanical systems
  • Proficient at reviewing and interpreting data and conducting statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of and experience working with natural gas industry

Software & Analysis Skills

  • Ability to effectively use video collaboration tools with internal teams
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database reporting


  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Experience with Utility Incentive programs
  • Experience in industrial settings and with industrial clients
  • Experience with project management, management coaching, and consulting
