Job Details:

Cascade Energy, founded in 1993, specializes in industrial energy efficiency. Our work reaches throughout the Pacific Northwest and across North America, with clients ranging in size from small up to Fortune 500 companies. We are proud of our reputation for stellar, high quality work. We foster and value a culture of equals, initiative, and ownership. Contribution in all areas is encouraged. Cascade has offices in Portland, Oregon; Eugene, Oregon; Issaquah, Washington; Walla Walla, Washington; Pleasant Grove, Utah; Meridian, Idaho; Park Ridge, Illinois; San Ramon, California; and San Diego, California.

At Cascade Energy, we believe in better. We come to work every day with a drive for continuous improvement and we dedicate ourselves to making industrial energy efficiency happen in smart, measurable, and sustained ways. We are always thinking about new ways to make things happen and achieve results. We offer energy efficiency program design and implementation, energy efficiency engineering, energy management services and software, and hands-on training and coaching.

Our teams are a reflection of our core company values, which are: do the right thing; put others first; seek shared success; learn constantly; and be industrious. Our customers are vitally important to us, and we pride ourselves on stellar customer service. We are all ambassadors, representing Cascade Energy, striving to keep our values top of mind, working to ensure we are responsive, and consistently delighting our customers.

We are seeking a Program Technical Outreach Specialist for our San Ramon, CA office. The Program Technical Outreach Specialist is a key team member who works within an energy efficiency program to facilitate and implement energy saving projects. The Program Technical Outreach Specialist engages directly with customers and takes a consultative role to assess their operations and equipment with the program offerings and resources in order to identify opportunities for incentive funded projects that maximize energy efficiency and performance in industrial systems. The Program Technical Outreach Specialist is a facilitator between the program, industrial end-user, and vendors, and helps educate end-users and vendors about the program while determining their needs and interests. The ideal candidate is a people person with strong relationship building skills and light analytical ability.

This is a full time, exempt position in our San Ramon office. The position requires approximately 25% domestic travel. This could be a half day trip to a site or to a vendor, a full day trip to multiple sites, or an occasional overnight trip to more distant area.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

  •  Engagement and outreach with vendors of energy efficient equipment
  •  Interacting with customers at industrial facilities as the face of efficiency programs
  •  Working with utility program representatives to identify good customers
  •  Quickly assessing feasibility of energy savings and financial benefits for potential upgrade projects
  •  Generating leads, networking, building and leveraging relationships within vendors who help deliver the program offering and utility personnel
  •  Selling consultatively and making recommendations to prospective vendors of the various program offerings available specific to their business needs
  •  Collecting information and quickly understanding equipment and operations
  •  Influencing the completion of deemed, retrocommissioning, and capital equipment upgrade projects
  •  Working independently toward goals and targets for California gas market

For this role, we seek candidates with a track record or superior performance, including:

  •  Passionate about energy and efficiency solutions
  •  Knowledge of natural gas systems
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Proactive, resourceful, and motivated to contribute to program success
  •  Effective coordination across a broad range of people and organizations
  •  Compelling interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, empathize, and comfortably interact with both internal and external customers
  •  Ability to manage and track a large number of small projects and tasks simultaneously
  •  Robust technical analysis skills, aptitude for presenting data

  • College degree in energy management, engineering technology, or similar field
  •  Successful lead generation, networking and relationship building ability; experience leveraging these to promote and facilitate program delivery
  •  Sales of energy efficient industrial equipment or past experience on a sales team
  •  Consultative sales experience, adept at effectively explaining and encouraging interest in various program offerings
  •  Knowledge of energy efficiency (with an emphasis on industrial work as opposed to commercial buildings)
  •  Project management of capital projects in an industrial setting
  •  Experience with California utility programs

Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. These include health (90% paid for team member, 80% paid for dependents), vision, FSA or HSA options with an employer contribution, life insurance, short and long term disability insurance, 401k retirement plan with both a guaranteed 3% contribution and a profit sharing contribution, annual cash performance bonus, (8) paid holidays per year, paid vacation time, and paid sick time.
