Electrical Energy Specialist - Power Systems

Facilities Development and Management, Energy Innovations, seeks an Electrical Energy Specialist - Power Systems to perform detailed analyses and develop projects from strategic planning through project proposal development phases in the areas of distributed generation, smart grid, microgrid, energy storage, operational optimization, and utility investment strategies in order to advance ASU’s energy and sustainability goals and initiatives.

DAYS AND SCHEDULE:
Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other technical field (e.g., physics and sustainability) and three (3) years of energy related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
•Evidence of a Master’s degree in Engineering.
•Evidence of having an active Professional Electrical Engineer registration in the State of Arizona.
•Experience and/or knowledge of electric power systems.
•Demonstrated knowledge of utility rate tariffs/rate structures.
•Experience working with energy modeling software such as HOMER and SAM.
•Experience working with PV energy system modeling software such as HelioScope and PVWatts.
•Experience working with electrical engineering software such as SKM.
•Experience structuring PPA deals for renewable energy projects.
•Experience working for a university campus/large facility. (2 years)
•Experience working in the utility industry.
•Experience in proposal development related to distributed generation, smart grid, microgrid, energy storage and/or utility investment strategies.
•Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Certified Energy Manager (CEM) accreditation.
