An Engineering Design and Construction Management firm, has immediate openings for Conservation Engineers for locations in Upstate New York. Candidates will provide support to the City of Rochester for the overall management and implementation of their Energy Master Plan. With the support of the New York Power Authority, the Energy Analyst will be responsible for advancing the City’s energy management program in a technical role to support the BuildSmart NY Goal of a 20% reduction in energy (EUI) use in City government by 2020, and citywide by 2030.
Requirements: Experience with facilities and energy management, strategic planning and project management. An understanding of operations and maintenance strategies. In depth understanding of issues related to energy efficiency, sustainability, climate change and greenhouse gas emissions reduction efforts for buildings, and other emission sources. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in electrical, mechanical or energy engineering, business, sustainability, or related field. 3-5 years of professional experience working with building facilities management. CEM designation and/or Energy and/or Sustainability certifications a plus, such as CEA, LEED AP, BEAP, BEMP, Professional Engineering license (or demonstrated track towards PE) preferred. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytic skills, including proficiency with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint required. Ability to write numerical, statistical, and narrative reports that are clear, concise and accurate required. Knowledge of the science of climate change, greenhouse gas management, energy efficiency and conservation, and climate mitigation and adaptation measures required. Ability to interpret, analyze and apply complex regulations and technical information. Ability to work effectively and professionally with public officials and the general public required.
These positions are very long-term, expected to start ASAP.
