Job Details:

The Contra Costa County Public Works Department is seeking qualified individuals interested in a career as an Energy Manager in Martinez, California.  The Energy Manager is responsible for the effective management and control of County energy cost for the Public Works Department and the County.  This classification is the energy expert for the County and helps the County save money and energy through monitoring usage of County facilities and by promoting the conservation of energy through the County’s Strategic Energy Plan.  The Energy Manager will collaborate with the Principal Planner-Level A/Sustainability Coordinator in the Department of Conservation and Development. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Licenses Required: 1) Possession of a valid California motor vehicle operator’s license. Out of state valid motor vehicle operator’s license will be accepted during the application process. AND 2) Possession of a valid Professional Engineer’s License (P.E. License).

 

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or a closely related field.

 

Experience: Four (4) years of full-time, or its equivalent, experience in energy management; including, developing and implementing energy efficiency measures for a multi-facility organization.

 

Substitution for Professional Engineer’s License: Additional two (2) years of experience as noted above can be substituted for the required Professional Engineer’s License.
